CNN vs. Al Jazeera

Justin and I imagined a system that projected live news headlines from Al Jazeera and CNN. We wanted to compare articles reporting the same news event with conflicting storylines. These two news sources seemed to fit that profile rather well.

When we couldn’t project our live news feeds in MCAD’s street-facing windows, we decided to hit the streets.

We used Macromedia Director to organize a small database of headlines and looked for spaces that would frame our images. Justin drove while I aimed the projector on various hot-spots in Minneapolis.

Important Safety Tip:
Projectors and laptops will have a very difficult time staying powered on a car battery, especially with a student-budget power converter.
